Storms

After the initial Nor'easter, storms and hurricanes continued to batter this unprotected barrier beach. Floods and fifteen foot waves were often associated with hurricanes that didn't even come within 300 miles of Long Island, creating the feeling of a perpetual battle with the elements. This instilled in Jeff a reverence for the powerful forces of nature and came to have a strong impact on the tone of his work.
